Let’s get to know YOU!

Name: Shachi Mody

Age: 38

Hometown: Mumbai, India

Profession: Small business owner

Fitness Background: I have always struggled with managing weight. I have worked with personal trainers before, but the difference I have seen in a year since I started working out at Elevate has been amazing.

Favorite non-gym way to be active: Going for a walk around the neighborhood

Favorite hobby: Reading, traveling

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Indian-style Chinese food 😊

Favorite health hack: Don’t have any.

Describe yourself in one word: Persistent

Biggest health and fitness goal: Lose weight and stay healthy

Now the nitty-gritty workout stuff…

When did you first try CrossFit/Bootcamp and what made you want to try it? I was not getting anywhere with my weight goals and saw an ad about Elevate online, so I decided to try it out.

What makes you stick with CrossFit/Bootcamp? The different workouts each day!

Favorite movement: No specific one

Least favorite movement/something that’s hard for you: Sled push ☹

What gets you through tough workouts? Seeing the difference in the last year

What keeps you motivated? I keep looking at the photo Liz had of me on the first week of workout.

Proudest Elevate moment to date? To see the post showing the before and after pics of me

Hobbies outside of killing it at the gym: Hanging out with friends

Changes you’ve seen from working out at Elevate: I have more energy, I’m eating healthier and I’m feeling good.

How has CrossFit helped you outside of the gym: It has made me more conscious about my eating habits.

How do you balance working out with family life? Working out is something that I have made my number 1 priority and I make sure I take time out for it.

What’s your favorite part of bringing your kid(s) to the gym? My daughter comes to Elevate kids and its her favorite time of the week.

Why CrossFit Elevate? I love the fact that there are different workouts each day and I look forward to that. The trainers (who are more like friends now) are very helpful and always have suggestions on how to live a healthier lifestyle be it food or working out. I love the Elevate family, I would never go back a conventional gym again.
