I became interested in health and fitness while enlisted in the Navy in 2002. Command Fitness Enhancement was one of my collateral duties, which allowed me to work with individuals staying physically ready for the Department of Defense’s Physical Readiness Tests. This duty made me eligible for a special Tuition Assistance Program that I used to complete several nationally accredited personal training certifications. After my enlistment concluded in November 2009, I moved to Katy and began working as a Personal Trainer at Lifetime Fitness, Cinco Ranch. After gaining knowledge and experience in the private sector, I then moved on to open my own affiliate, CrossFit Elevate in 2011.
I believe training people with constantly varied functional movements in a dynamic group setting is the best way for a large part of the general population to get a safe, effective, developmental and fun workout. Period.more
Health and Fitness has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up involved in the sport of gymnastics, as a competitive gymnast and as a coach. I fell in love with the sport because of how I was constantly challenged to be better and loved seeing what my body was physically capable of. I decided to challenge myself even further when I joined the military at the age of 20. I joined the United States Navy as an EOD technician and put my mental and physical capabilities to the test. The military is where I discovered Crossfit. It became a part of my daily workout routine since the functional fitness was a huge part of what I was required to do for my job.
